OFF TO THE BEACH....

I am thinking ahead to next summer already with my latest purchase. This piece of summery berrylicous terry towling will be Beach Hoodie mark 2. Click on the tab above called, Projects to see mark 1.  I cobbled together my pattern using greaseproof paper, old clothes of my daughters and lots of elastic. Somehow, I managed to produce a unique and usable piece of clothing, it has just made it through it's second year!

Johnson Bros Greydawn
Thank you Lyme Regis. I have been looking for pieces of Greydawn for ages! There is plenty of rummaging to do in Lyme on a not so sunny afternoon, from charity to posh flea and fab eclectic shopping. I boosted my stock for Pulp Paper Heaven as well. Look out for new knitting pattern and retro kids favorites at Crafts @ the Cheese and Grain. See this page for the next market.

Sold!

But not to me. I missed out today at Dores and Rees auction. It happens. A box of china amongst which was a lovely Meakin dinner service and a Poole Contour gravy jug. Never mind there is always next time.

Frome Flea

It is easy to get carried away with it all at Frome Flea! There is so much temptation every where you turn. Great quality stalls and plenty of them.  I deserted my family straight away as some blue Poole Pottery caught my eye. I had hardly looked at it before I was drawn to a sparkling mirrored plinth, could I find somewhere to fit this into my life? a set of quirky, cool, lepoard skin dinning chairs and a Johnson Brothers dinner service, the lovely butterfly seat above, countless pieces of coloured glass and past times trinkets. I was then distracted by my eldest who became very taken with a beautiful but stuffed pheasant,

A passion for coffee

As I spend so much time drinking coffee, I know what I like, it has to be good and hot, full of flavour, with a dreamy creamy frothy head.  So I tend to go out for coffee. Ahhhh... the satisfaction of that first cup of the day! If I made fresh coffee everyday at home it just wouldn't be the same. I would miss the cosy corner, the smell of the coffee brewing and the reasuring din of the machine. And what if disaster struck, and I damaged one of my cherished beauties (see above) in the process! No, my china is for oogling and for playing with lids. Each has a distinct style and mood but I always come back to the Poole Pottery Contour, Blue Moon. Its calming lines are just fab, very elegant,  and that dainty lid, perfect for tinkering with.
